The Story
Sandman first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #4 in 1963, a small time crook who wandered onto a test site and came out able to turn his body into sand. Punching him does nothing, which made him one of the earliest Spider-Man villains built around a problem Peter could not solve with strength. He is also one of the few in the rogues gallery who has spent real time on the hero side of the line, which gives the character more range than most of the box.
The Mightys version leans into the scale angle. The tap animation has him form oversized sand weapons and bring them down, which is the closest thing in the series to a set piece.

Market Context
Season 12 blind box with a waitlist, Marvel license, Marvel Mightys brand, 8.50% market fee. Two of the six pieces are not firsts: Mysterio and Doctor Octopus both read N/A on their edition type because their VeVe firsts already happened in 2022. Sandman, Vulture, Electro, and J. Jonah Jameson are the four carrying First Appearance. With 1,099 editions Sandman is among the deepest supply in the box, which usually keeps singles easy to find on the VeVe secondary market once boxes are opened.
Collector's Note
Sandman is a solid completionist pickup and one of the more visually distinct pieces in the Mightys line, since the sand form gives the sculpt a shape the others do not have. The value case is thin at this edition count, so treat it as a character first you want to own rather than a scarcity play. If you are after scarcity in this box, J. Jonah Jameson at 199 editions is the piece to chase. Want $10 off before you open a box? Use this VeVe link.
