The Story
Stephen Strange did not start as a hero. He was a brilliant, egotistical neurosurgeon until a car accident wrecked his hands. Chasing a cure, he found the mystic arts at Kamar-Taj and came back as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, the line of defense against magical and interdimensional threats.
Since his debut in Strange Tales #110 in 1963, he has been Marvel's doorway into the mystical side of the universe. He wields the Eye of Agamotto and the Cloak of Levitation against beings like Dormammu and Mephisto.
He also anchors MCU tentpoles like Infinity War, where he went up against Thanos alongside heroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man, and later headlined Multiverse of Madness.
The design leans fully into the Marvel Mightys chibi aesthetic: exaggerated features, bold color, oversized eyes locked in focus. Strange hovers mid-air with hands outstretched, conjuring portals as glowing golden rings animate around them. The red Cloak of Levitation billows behind him with a weightless drift, the grey robes stay simplified but readable, and the white streaks in his hair carry over from the comics and films.
The Collectible
Marvel Mightys is VeVe's stylized, lower-priced line, and at $15 this was an accessible entry point compared to the platform's premium sculpts. The tradeoff is scale and tone: playful proportions and animated portal rings rather than a realistic 3D figure. For collectors chasing the Mightys set, this is the Doctor Strange slot.
